Each crab is hand caught, carefully preserved, and meticulously finished by hand - crafted with care to ensure lasting quality.

Frequently asked questions

🦀 Are these real crabs?

Yup—each piece starts as a real Maryland blue crab, locally caught and carefully preserved to last a lifetime.

🎨 What’s the process like?

Each crab is thoroughly cleaned by hand for quality, safety, and long-term preservation. After that, it's carefully painted, glossed, and finished—no shortcuts, ever. Every piece is unique, made with care from start to finish.

⏳ When will I get my order?

Each crab is made to order by hand, and since I’m a one-man operation, the process can take a bit of time. But don’t worry—I’ll keep you updated every step of the way so you’re never left wondering where your crab is.

🖼️ Can I request a custom mount or display?

Yes! I gladly accept custom requests—especially if you’ve got a trophy catch you want preserved and displayed. I’ll work with you one-on-one to make sure your order turns out just right.

📦 What if my crab is damaged during shipping?

Customers are responsible for securely packaging and shipping their crab to MDBlues (if doing a custom order). Every specimen is handled with great care throughout the preservation process and is professionally packaged for its return shipment. While every effort is made to ensure each crab arrives and returns safely, MDBlues cannot guarantee against damage that occurs during shipping or damage that existed before the specimen was received.
